A vegetarian diet is one where no meats are eaten. A vegan diet refers to a stricter form of vegetarianism, which also includes eating no animal by-products such as honey or eggs. The reasons for embracing a vegetarian lifestyle are many. Some individuals have chosen to become vegetarians after facing health problems like heart conditions to cut back on unhealthy processed foods and those high in saturated fats, which can further damage the heart. Others simply wanted to improve their overall health and nutrition to increase longevity.
