U.S. Symbols and Celebrations

The United States has been an established country since declaring its independence from Britain on July 4, 1776. During the two hundred plus years since being an independent nation, the country has had many rallying points to unify the people. These symbols have been widely distributed and recognized by young and old.

The country has had symbols such as the American Flag, Uncle Sam, American Eagle, Liberty Bell and the Declaration of Independence as focal points. In addition, the country has instituted several special holidays to serve as days to remember. They include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Patriot’s Day and Veteran’s Day.
